Bp-Social How to change the background color of body

Hi everybody, maybe I'm missing something and my question could sound very silly, but I really can't find the way to modify the background-color on my site using bp-social theme: http://survivaltourism.com/
I'm tweaking the style modifying the file "base.css" but when I try to change "body { background-color: #desired color;} nothing happens... it remains always in white... and I feel so sad for that. :-(
Somebody could give me a hand solving this dummy issue or am I a "forever alone"?

Hi, sorry you're having issue with the colour change. First up, we'd recommend you use the child theme by taking that out of the themes/ folder. Then you have one of two options - you can change this under the theme options or add this to your child theme's CSS.

ie;
```
body{
background: #ccc;
}
```
