Darkpress 1.01 released

June 25th, 2009 Posted in buddypress themes |

darkpress101The DarkPress Theme has got a great success, with over 650 downloads for its previous version. And so i’ve tried to update it to the 1.01 release of  Buddy Press.

We still have a problem with cropping images using Internet Explorer (i need some help to fix it) but i want to release this update since our “fan base” seems to love it

Black and blue atmosphere, professional looking, it can be suitable for communities that talk about music, software, videogames, sci-fi, media, and a lot of other things. Customizing it with your logo and/or header image is really easy, and i’ve included a full installation guide text in the download.!

Here is the video showcase of DarkPress:

Any updates regarding the FF Issues? I love the theme, but 90% of my users use firefox so this is a rather large problem…

I’m now wondering if all the BuddyPress themes that were created prior to 1.0.3 will now need to be updated to make the avatar cropping function work…

I just tried working with one of Chris Milburn’s themes (which I also like alot) on a new BP (1.0.3) site, and when testing a new account set-up ran into the same problem you have with DarkTheme.

Only the default BP theme is properly handling new member avatar cropping….

    WPMu 2.8.2; BuddyPress 1.0.3; Firefox 3.5.1
Oh sweet mercy, so many headaches, so little time. :-)

  6. cheryljns says:

Just an FYI: After testing FF3.5 I deleted it. Why? A compatible Firebug plugin is not yet available. Good Grief! How could anyone live without Firebug??!!???! :-)

  7. cheryljns says:

I just downloaded FF3.5 only to find some of the spacing on one of my single user WP themes in now wonky. On the other hand, the Mu site where I have the home theme of DarkPress looks terrific.

tonight i’ll install the new version of FF, so i wanna see the issues with themes. I’m “a bit” disappointed, cause the themes work well with the previous releases.

  9. Robin says:

If you can make this work correctly with Firefox 3.5 within the next two weeks, I will totally donate at least $5.

  10. This totally doesn’t work in Firefox 3.5

I skirted the “IE-Won’t-Crop-New-Avatar” bug by using the member theme from a different BP theme. (It’s nice, but not as nice as DarkTheme)

I’m looking forward, though, to having the home theme and member theme match once again. :-)

Nice theme, I think this will go good with my new site project.

  14. cheryljns says:

I ’spose you already tried copying the javascript code from someone else’s working change-avatar page. :-)

Thank you! Thank you! Now I can finish this little project: http://virtualrentparty.com/network/

I see the avatar cropping issue in IE only occurs when someone uploads a new avatar. Otherwise, it is perfect.

    Thank you again.
