FaceBuddy upgrade: RC2

April 16th, 2009 Posted in buddypress themes |

rc2Update: if you are using BP 1.0 go to this post, if you are still using the RC2 please continue reading here. As you know, Buddy Press has radically changed the theme management in the RC2 trunk version. We’ve upgraded the FaceBuddy theme accordingly to the WPMU 2.71 last trunk version, and the latest trunk of Buddy Press. If you are running the old RC1 version of Buddy Press please don’t use this file.

The upgrade is in beta 1.0 but i haven’t seen particular issues and so i think you can download and use it. Please remember to donate using Paypal: all this upgrading requires a lot of work and it would be nice to receive your support in order to keep themes free. Thank you!

thanx Alunsina: i’ve updated the zip file with the Andy Peatling solution to the “missing wire box”!

    andy peatling on buddypress forum:

    worked on mine! :D

  7. EvvScuba says:

I too am seeing the wire comment box missing. Any suggestions?

  8. alunsina says:

have the same concern as stoppay. default buddypress shows wire. facebuddy theme does not show wire.

  9. stoppay says:

Anyone else having a problem with The Wire?

On a fresh install with the default theme I can update The Wire, using the FaceBuddy theme, the post box is missing.

  10. Sgrunt says:

hi alunsina, in the zip file you should have found a logo.psd file that you can edit with Photoshop or similar.

  11. alunsina says:

at last! now i was able to make it work. the reason i was getting white screen is because of an Incompatibility? with a bpdev plugin.

now i just need to fix the logo. how can i make it higher?

    thanks!

    Dear Sgrunt:

Can you please check the facebuddy theme menu (Home, Blog, Users Blogs, etc.) it’s not showing well.

    Using MUWP 2.7.1 BP-RC2 FB-RC2 2.1 Beta

What about bbpress theme for use with facebuddy ?

    Best regards,

  13. Sgrunt says:

hi ndrwld, happy it is solved! yes, i must have forgotten something in the style.css (where you set the name and description of the theme)

  14. ndrwld says:

With next revisions everything is fine with CSS.
I was confused by Facebuddy member theme title:)
    It displays:
“BuddyPress Member Theme (compatible with buddypress RC2)”
    I think it should be:
“Facebuddy Member Theme (compatible with buddypress RC2)”
    Sorry for inconvenience.
    Matew

thanx: there aren’t virus on BuddyDress but it seems that on the same server there are two websites with malicious software and so Avast see all the server as a bridge to that. I’ve written to the hosting company asking an immediate solution.
