Facebuddy: our first free theme
Update: if you are using the official 1.0 version of Buddy Press please go here for the updated version of this theme. Ladies & gentlemen: our first BuddyPress theme has been released! Facebuddy will change the look of your private network, giving to it a Facebook appearance.
Clean and simple: in this minimal work we’ve tried to avoid images (there’s only one for the background bar and one for your logo) ando so you can really install it in a second.
In the pack are included: the site-wide-css file, the background image, the .psd file to customize with your logo or site name, and the footer files that include credits to BuddyDress. Here come the screenshots and at the end of this post you’ll find the installation guide.
Note: if you are using the latest trunk of Buddy Press RC2, you can’t use older themes. You can download the updated version of Facebuddy that works ONLY with WPMU 2.71 and Buddy Press latest trunk. If you are using the RC1 version, you can download the zip in this post.

Put the home theme in your themes folder, and the member theme in the wp-contentmember-themes as usual
If you want to customize your installation with your logo or your site’s name (recommended) then:
open the logo.psd file with Photoshop (or similar) and customize it writing your site’s name. Then save it as “logo.png” in your wp-contentthemesfacebuddy home-themeimages folder
Activate the Facebuddy home theme from Design > Themes. Then, select your member theme from Site admin > Buddypress > Select theme > Facebuddy

I’m having the following error:

When I try to activate the facebuddy theme..
What can I do to resolve this? I’d really like to use the theme, its super cool!!

oki, i’m solved the most of the latest trunk issue with themes. When i’ll be sure that all the changes will be fixed i’ll upload a new version of the theme, compatibile with the latest trunk.
hi Dace, we’ve talked on the buddypress forum. It seems the Buddy Press developers have maden changes to the themes structure too in the latest trunk (the directory pages). This is a problem that will stop me in creating new themes (i’ve a new one ready at 90%) until the first official version of BP will come out. When the stable version will come out i’ll upgrade all the actual themes to make them fully working with the news changes.
in fact, i have done an upgrade from last trunk (1281) i have only replace BP files and not facebuddy.. i already make the change bp-themes without success… always the same errors…
The latest trunk of BuddyPress has changed the naming of folders for member themes. You can easily rename your folder, reading this instructions: http://buddypress.org/forums/topic.php?id=1675
Sorry I have to unistall the Facebuddy theme as I cannot get the member-theme to work with the new trunk. It wont let people signup either..

NEW:

I have error un facebuddytheme-members with the last trunk (1259). Any idea?
